At the Special General Meeting members will have the opportunity to vote on whether to approve the accounts submitted and also on the following proposed amendment to the constitution:
The SpecFicNZ Committee (Core) proposes that the current clause 14 of the constitution as set out above be deleted and in its place be inserted the following clause 14.
14 CONTROL OF FUNDS
14.1 The following sub clauses set out how the society's funds are administered by the committee and officers between general meetings.
14.1.1 Money should be received by electronic means, whether by bank transfer, Paypal, or other online tools. Money can be received by other means at the joint discretion of the treasurer, and president or secretary.
14.1.2 Any member of the committee, or person or persons delegated by the committee, shall be entitled to produce receipts for expenses incurred for work agreed by the committee in writing following discussion at a meeting or on the committee email list.
14.1.4 Expenditure must be authorised by a minimum of two signatories. All signatories must be current members of the committee, and one must be the treasurer.
14.1.5 From time to time the committee may decide to invest money on behalf of the society. A full account of any such investments and any return or loss must be presented at the following general meeting.
14.2 The Treasurer will ensure that true and fair accounts are kept of all money received and expended.
14.3 The Committee may arrange for the accounts of SpecFicNZ for that financial year to be audited by a person appointed for that purpose.
